Did you know? Kalmiopsis Elementary was recently approved to participate in the Provision 2 National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program. This means that this school year we will be serving not only breakfast but also lunch FREE to all Kalmiopsis students.
In order for the district to complete this process to make the most for this exciting program, WE NEED YOUR HELP. We are asking all head of households to fill out a Free or Reduced application regardless of income in the household. By doing this it will help provide the most funding we can get as far as providing the free meals to your children(s) over the next several years.
There are two ways to fill out the "free and reduced application":

There are two ways to fill out the "free and reduced application":
- Go to www.brookings.k12.or.us. On the right-hand side of the webpage, you will find a box that says "Online Payments." Set up your account. Once registered, go to the online application box. In order to complete the application, you will need your child(rens) school lunch I.D. number. Once complete, please submit. We highly suggest filling out the online application.
- Fill-out a paper form. You can find paper forms at any one of the front offices at any of the BHSD schools.
Regardless if your child(ren) participate in the free breakfast and lunch program, we need ALL households to fill out the application. Provision 2 only requires this process once every four years, so for the next three years no applications will be collected, and the free breakfast and lunch program will continue at Kalmiopsis.
